I'm having my 5200 pound axles and 15 inch wheels and tires replaced today with 2 7k pound axles, 3500 pound springs, and 16 inch tires and wheels. Question: The guy at Evergreen RV in New Braunfels, that is doing the work wants to buy the axles. I have no idea what their worth so I asked him, and he said to give him a price. Can anyone give me an idea what these axles are worth? Also, 2 of the tires are new with less than 20 miles on them, the other two have less than 200 miles. What are they worth with the white trailer rim in excellent condition? Any help would be appreciated.

You need to tell DOT code, and size, on tires so we know actual age and manufacturer. If made in China, they are worthless IMO.

My mistake. The tires are G/year Marathon 225/75R/15; DOT codes on the new ones are 09, not sure about the month; the other 2 are 08. A lot of emphasis is placed on DOT codes, but when you need tires, you take what they have. My new 16's have an '07 date code, but I called Titan and they warrant for 3 years regardless of date code. Any idea on what I should charge for the axles?

I never take what they give me, I look at the DOT code before they take the wheels off my rims. if they are the same year or several months old I'll buy them, if not they can order me some new ones, I dont need old tires comming apart while I'm on vacation or traveling at night.

Maybe you've had better luck out your tires than I have. Every extended vacation that we take, we have at least one blow out. Then, the next town we buy a new one. Again, you take what they have or your don't have a spare

clev, I am reading between the lines that you don't have a tire pressure monitoring system. You should !

I would trade him the labour for the axles. They are no good to you and fat chance that you will find a buyer.

If you were to go to an auto salvage yard they would get between 1/4 or up 1/2 the cost of new, He'll want to make a little profit so you can go from there .Tires with 20 miles i would stick with at least half. 200 miles? Maybe between 1/4 and half. Dicker with him.
