Shocking. Jayco on the pants.
Then came Crime Scene - Jayco on the pants.
100,000 watched and tens of millions more on TV around the world - probably just about everywhere but North America. Everything stopped for about an hour. Stores were empty.
Anyone know what I'm referring to? (Robert, you don't qualify for this quiz.)
Sure gave Jayco good PR.

Don:
Let's wrap this up. This topic is not really appropriate here, though, as Jayco makes a lot of Class Cs, I'll let it go if you wrap it up and tell us the answer.

I happen to be in Australia at the moment - Port Douglas to be exact (out on the Barrier Reef today).
Yesterday was an amazing day to observe here - The Melbourne Cup horse race. 100,000 jammed the track in Melbourne. The aspect that amazed us was the the entire country stopped for the race. We were in an IGA food store 45 minutes before the race started and it was empty. Just prior we were on the main street of Port Douglas and almost every restaurant had Melbourne Cup parties underway with the ladies dressed to the 9's and sporting fancy hats. Men were dressed in a variety of outfits - many goofy.
We decided to watch the event which is show throughout this part of the world and in Ireland and the UK.
I was amazed when the horse Shocking won the Cup and even more amazed when down his pant legs in huge letters was JAYCO. Then I did a double take - the second place horse Crime Scene - same thing with the Jockey. It seems that Jayco (Australia not US) sponsors a lot of jockeys and a LOT of sporting events. I gather it is a household name. It was started 6 or 8 years after Jayco US.
We've seen a substantial number of motorhomes on the highways here - virtually all but a few have been C Class with a lot of rentals. Looking at the Jayco AU web site I found that all of its Class C units (many appear very nice) are on the FIAT chassis.
It will be interesting to see how Fiat handles its relationship with Chrysler as they may well find a market for similar vehicles in North America.
Robert may wish to comment on their reputation for reliability in Australia but one fellow here told me it is pretty good.
