Also notice that light trucks are the slowest moving market segment in the auto industry. Any Big 3 dealership around my home has next to nothing in the way of 3/4 or 1 ton pickups on the lot, and not nearly as many 1/2 ton truck as used to be stocked. Incentives are starting to diminish, so they must be close to matching supply to current demand. But yeah it's scary to see a pickup truck selling for nearly what I paid for my current home 23 years ago............

Just curious. I am about to buy a truck in Ontario and haven't bought one for ages. Any idea how much I can knock the price down?

Capt Skup wrote: Are there still people out there that think window sticker is the actual selling price? Doubt many vehicles would be sold if that were true. Ford is not the only one with high sticker prices, I just looked at a new Dodge 1500 that stickered for over $50,000, a Chevy 3500 DRW Duramax for $61,000(and it had "simulated" chrome wheels!).
So true. Look at how much our Rv's stickered for ($82k for mine) and how much we actually paid ($55k for me).

So, I can get that $66K stickered truck for $28K? I doubt it.
PBR = professional bull riders, right? Why would they put the most expensive truck they can build on display at a rodeo? Yeah, those guys have LOTS of money. On top of that, they're driving lots of dumb people away who think that it's going to take $66K to buy ANY Ford.
All they're attracting is a few dreamers and one rich guy who might actually buy that truck.
I would put the CHEAPEST work truck they can build on display. An F150 with a sticker price around $20K. People will walk by and say, "What a great value! My next truck will be a Ford," instead of, "Jeez, Ford is crazy! No way will I ever buy one!"

The only reason I look at the sticker is to see what options are on the vehicle, other than that I go to a salesperson and give them a payment amount I can afford & if they can do it , great & if they can't I walk. Never pay attention to the price.

Marketing 101, show your top end product up front. Ever been in a show home with carpet/lino, laminate counters, white appliances etc? Nope, they all have hardwood, tile, granite, stainless and other shiny options. It's all about the eye candy to draw customers in,then sell them what they can(barely)afford.

How about a diesel that doesn't blow up? Wait, that's right, that's been off Ford's option list since mid-2003!
Maybe a front clip that doesn't look like an alien fish?

Ye gods. I just "built" an F-350 on Ford's site...a very basic SuperCab/longbed 4x4, basically stripped (5.4/6-speed, 3.73 gears, plow prep, tilt/cruise, 10K GVWR, steel wheels, vinyl interior, bench seat)...and it was $33,775! Even losing the cruise control & CD player (the only options other than the $85 plow prep), this stripped work truck is still $33,000!
Dodge is just as bad: a base Ram QC with the Hemi & slushpump (standard is diesel-only), Snow Chief group, cruise, is $37,000! Thirty seven thousand for a stripped work truck!
