I winterized our two trailers this weekend and here are a few tools that I made/bought to help myself out.

I bought a 3/4 x 3/4 male hose coupler, an air supply chuck and a plastic hose end cap so I could hook my air compressor directly to my water supply inlet on the trailer. Total cost, about $7.00.

Connected to the trailer.

To pump the pink stuff through my lines, I bought a 30" plastic water supply line and a 1/2" plastic nut and connected that to the inlet side of my water pump. This was less than $2.00. I put my gallon jug of antifreeze into another bucket, put the water supply line into the jug and turned on the pump. It was really easy.

Now I need to go buy a socket big enough to remove the anode.

I have those tools also.... neat.

But..., still did not prevent me from filling "hot water tank" with anti-freeze (2 gallons) before it dawned on me to use "by-pass" valves.

Some are slower than others.... (people).

I was lucky, my pup came with a little by-pass hose that I used. When looking for my drains, I found the by-pass valve by my HW heater.

In searching for information about the anode nut I discovered MANY people are filling their HW tanks!

I haven't seen that at WalMart, and missed it at Camping World over Labor Day.

What's under the black cap? Do you have to stand and hold the air line up to the blow out plug, or will it accept the chuck?

Steve, with that one you have to stand there and hold it. It is only plastic. The one I purchased, is brass. It will accept a chuck. It was about $8. I wish I would have purchased all they had because I could have made a fortune on them! I cannot remember where I purchased it from. I think it was Tom Johnsons in Concord NC. It was a Camco item though.

I made a similar connection for air line quick connect.

Steveo35, yes, with that blowout plug you have to hold an air chuck to it like filling a tire. Some folks here have bought the air chucks that clamp to a valve stem to lock it into place.
