last camping trip i just about got clipped by a kid playing some bump bump bump music... i honked at him and it was still like i wasn't even there.

so i went out and bought some air horns today haven't installed them yet but i tested them and they are kind of high pitch sound more like a train than a truck any tricks for lowering the pitch?

(for all those that are sure to have negative comments yes i know this won't stop any one from cutting me off but at least i will get a little more satisfaction when i honk at them for doing it.)

I'd like to do that too. Actually, I'd like a device that I could aim at the "BUMP, BUMP, BUMP" mobile that would fry their amp.....

Pitch is determined by the length of the trumpets.

I don't think there is a way to change the pitch with out replacing them for a version with a different tone.
I have the Stebel Truck air horn, it combined with my dual tone stockers create a nice LOUD blast and it was cheap, $50 or so on Ebay. It sure wakes the cell phoners and texters up and make me feel better for knocking them back in line.

I'm having a set of 5 trumpet locomotive air horns installed beneath our truck with the compresor and air tank located in my front tool box in the truck bed. They're illegal in some states. They'll be wired to my factory horn on the steering wheel. I very seldom use a horn. But when I need a horn, I need a horn. When some person talking on a cell phone with one hand and juggling a hamburger and drink with the other pulls out in front of me while towing or cut's me off to make a quick turn, I want the drink or the cigarette dumped in the lap of that person while getting their attention. I want to cause a heart attack in Minneapolis. 180db of train horns should do the trick.

Happy camping!!! See ya'll down the road!!!

well i decieded how i'm going to wire it and accepted that i'm going to live with the deal i have now.. took me a while to find the factory horns they are hidden behind the headlights.

so i'm going to try just the low factory horn and just the low air horn and see how that sounds if it doesn't sound good ill hook up all four and go to the swap meet and see if i can find a better horn.

picked these ones up cheap for $10 with a compressor at harbor freight.

There should be a small screw, probably Philips head(star), that will adjust the tone. This will not give you an octave of adjustment, but will make a difference.

no screw cheap horn/trumpet i'm going to just go with all 4 and live with it until i can put a bigger one in the big trumpets are a little pricey it looks like.

ill see what kind of reaction i get the first time i have to use it. for $10 i can't complain to much.. spliced off the existing horn wire and grounded to a hood mount only took about 30 minutes to install after i found where the factory horn was and decided how i was going to wire+mount it.
