I recently added a tow package to my motorhome and I am towing a Honda CRV. I do not have a backup camera and I cannot see the tow vehicle. I would feel better if I could see something so that I know that the tow vehicle is there as I drive down the highway. I am wondering if I could attach something (flag., etc.) to one side of the tow vehicle. Any ideas?

I've seen a product demonstrated at an RV show.
IIRC, there were two markers on the sides of the RV at the back, and two flags extending sideways from the middle of the toad.
The flags and markers were adjusted so that when seen through the side mirrors, the flags lined up with the markers when going straight down the road. If any of the tires on the toad went down, the flags and markers wouldn't line up anymore, and if something happened to the tow bar (like one side came loose), the flags and markers would also show that problem.
I have no idea if the product is still marketed, but it seems like it wouldn't be too hard to put together a similar setup.

Look for the shadow, Most of the day you toad will cast a shadow on one side or the other and you can see it in the mirror. You could also by a cheap backup camera that would be easy to add to your MH

That would be interesting to pull into your next stop and discover the towed wasn't there.

Do you have a rear window in your MH? Do you have a inside rear view mirror? Can you see the rear window in the mirror?
If you have you could add a wide angle Fresnel lense, it sticks on the inside of the window.

Get one of those $98 wireless backup camera systems at Wallyworld (you can get them cheaper if you look around). Mount the camera on a metal strap at the inside top of your rear window. Get you power from the light inside the closet. Just plug the monitor into the cigarette lighter in front. You are all set to go and can see the toad in the monitor.

My solution was to buy the wireless backup camera from PepBoys for $89. Replaced the center top clearance light with the camera, used the electric for the camera. It requires that turn on the lights, but that's no big deal.
I don't know if I am compliance with DOT with one less clearance light. Not too worried about it.

Buy the camera, you won't be sorry. The red flag could attract bulls
Armadillo, has the right idea with the wireless camera, they are easy to install and the piece of mind is priceless.
