With my Michelin Ribs my clearance is 1" inch maximum between my tires. I have had them on the coach for 2 years now and about 8000 miles with no issues at all. It is enjoyable towing with confidence not fearing a tire failure constantly. I too needed the 3042 lb rating for my 14400 lb GVWR rating.

Michelin Ribs are the best tire on the market providing they fit and are within your load requirements. Changed this summer and what a difference. Fuel mileage is actually a little better as the trailer now follows better.
