I have had problems reserving Seacliff SP full hook up sites for the last 5 years, for the month of May. Apparently, there is some special festival/whatever going on there from week to week.
So....you get up at 7:30am on Nov.1.............get to reserveamerica.com.........have a site picked out..8:01am, pulling out the credit card.item in cart.YES!
BOOM!!! 8:02am!..........All sites reserved and you get kicked out at login time...........??? This has happened every year at this time. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
There must be some insider secret here somewhere here that knows what is going on. This is crazy! Reserveamerica.com sucks the worst there is. Oh, $7.50 for this $8 for that, pretty soon it will be $2.00 just for asking a question.
Thank you so much for outsourcing the State campgrounds.....for a fee on us....Darn ,I'm ticked off...Anyone else go through this for California via Reserve America?

I read your mail. That problem occurs at numerous popular parks on the east coast, particularly in FL, in the regular and snowbird camping seasons. And I flat out refuse to play the reservation game. Oh... I use the Reserve America website, alright. But, it's only to determine where I can be a walk-up and enjoy a few days in the area. Fortunately, my flexible schedule facilitates that behavior. You have my sympathy.

8:01 is often too late. For the most popular parks if I do not have my site locked by 8:00:15 I figure I am out of luck.
If you are successful in getting a site in the cart you have 10 minutes (or something like that) to complete the transaction. The site is frozen during that time, and nobody else can get it.

Seacliff is tough, for twelve years starting in 1990 we were at seacliff for Thanksgiving, the last seven years only once, and now that the prices have doulbled forget it. I agree since everthing went internet its tough. Now what i have had good luck on is two weeks prior to arrival getting in on cancellations .3708

A "hidden agenda"?
I would worry more about those black helicopters flying around Santa Cruz. Everone is out to get us.
As far as Reseve America, we have had nothing but stellar service from them and yes, because the way the State has set-up the "system", popular locations will be tough to get.

Always login to the system before you go hunt for your site. That way you will not have to login after selecting your site.
