What was this guy drinking? I own a PT Cruiser and one reason I bought it was for it's looks.
Few others that are good looking also.

He could have left off about a third of those and been dead-on. But his inclusion of the DeLorean, Ferrari, BMW 7 series, El Camino, and some others, shows that the guy is only inserting his own taste in cars and clearly not the opinions of the public whatsoever. Some are obvious, but this guy is not too sharp IMHO.

The ugliest "American" Car ..??

How many of you remember the year that Cadillac decided to chop off the rear end of it's cars ..??

That destroyed one of the most beautiful American cars ever made..

Cadillac was more than just a car.. it was a status symbol that Americans strived for.. it showed that they had achieved success in their lives..

When they chopped off the rear end of the Cadillac, it became just another Gremlin with a higher price tag..

I agree that there are many ugly cars as well as many beautiful cars in the world's automotive history..

But chopping up the American Cadillac was the beginning of the end for truly beautiful cars..

and of course, as always, this is just my personal opinion,,

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

I still see some of those admittedly ugly cars....at the drag race track. With a few modifications and some cool paint - and BIG WIDE SLICKS...even the ugliest car can become "cool"!!!

Regarding cars like the Ferrari, Beetle, etc....the author must not understand the difference between "unique" and "ugly".

From a confirmed lover of "Bugs" :-)

Typical media ...some editor tells a writer to make up a list of something...out comes opinion...based on what...and then headlined as fact...50 ugliest cars...

I wonder how much back checking, cross checking investigation with what car experts went into this...

Include some beauties like an El Camino, etc....

No wonder media have credibility issues.

It looks like a mosquito on wheels.

Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

This is an excellent of how people differ from each other...

downtheroad considers this to be a good looking car... but to me it is as ugly as a mother-in-law with leprosy..

Even if it were given to me for free, I would immediately trade it in for a nice pickup truck.

and Bounder likes the new Volkswagons...

but to me, they are only "OK", because they lack the "cuteness", "practicality" and "originality" of the old 1960's models..

Not saying they are ugly, just not as nice as the older VW's were in my opinion..

But... hey.. this is what makes the world a great place to live.. we are all different..

What do you expect from a magazine titled "Business Week"? They're obviously not into cars.

Then they have a slide show of The Best of the Tokyo Auto Show. I think some of those cars are on both lists.
