I have been using one since 2005, no problems, like it in fact. I adjust my control a lot because I like it set harder on the interstate or hwy, than I do in towns and at stop lights, etc. Therefore, I can not comment on it needing to be adjusted a lot. If I am in city traffic with lots of waiting at lights, I often turn it down to very weak to almost off. But my Trailer is a lightweight.

If you are referring to the MaxBrake or BrakeSmart neither cut into the brake lines.
They utilize an existing hole in the Master Brake Cylinder and you screw in a fully enclosed self contained pressure transducer and connect your wires.
They are not unsafe if that is your concern.

Agreed, and In addition the old "hydraulic over electric" controllers that did tap into the brake lines were among the best controllers ever made. 100% proportional and completely safe if installed correctly. People who still have them covet them. Why they were pulled from the market can only be guessed at, since they work just as well on new vehicles as they did on old ones.

The Voyager is a decent controller for it's time. I got one in the early 1990's and used it till 2007 when I replaced it with a P3. I kept the Voyager for a back up in case the P3 failed, the Voyager is a decent controller but nothing like the P3.

I also have the Voyager and no problems with it. I set mine and have not adjusted it but a few times over the past 5 years. One of those times is when i installed it in my new truck.

Ok, I'm going to finally admit something here. I replaced a Voyager with a Prodigy. Can't really tell a big difference. There was nothing wrong with the Voyager and I still have it as a backup. It's just that I was expecting, well I don't know what I was expecting but the Prodigy work just as well as the Voyager. I do like the boost feature when in town but if I had to do over I would probably keep the Voyager and save my money for camping fees! John

OK, chalk up another good mark for the voyager. We installed it in about 30 minutes on Thursday, hooked up and took it for the test. Following the instructions to just shy of the fine tune section, we touched it 4 times total. JTGMAN said it feels like the TT isn't even there when braking.
THANKS to everyone!
