We are thinking of camping overnight the middle of March. Would appreciate any comments.

Thank you, Clint

Have never camped there, but the campground looked nice as I drove by. Thing I wanted to say is, stay a little longer and hike the trails in Snow Canyon. Red Cliffs NRA up I-15 a little is another good place for hiking.

I've camped there several times, although not in March. Beautiful camp area, nice trails. Don't let the fact that there are now houses just about right up to the entrance scare you off.

It's a beautiful park but we stayed at Temple View.
Don't forget the dinosaur museum.

I live about 5 miles north of Snow Canyon. March is a very good time to camp there. Snow Canyon is one of the most visited state park in Utah. Suggest you make reservation. Snow Canyon is a destination in its self and should be considered for more than a stop over.

Great place with fantastic scenery and great trails. One day won't be enough to give it justice! One point to consider though -- unless things have changed (last stop was '04)-- avoid the hook up sites. Really cramped and I mean really cramped. If you don't need hook ups take one of the "primitive" sites.

I totally agree with Bruce.
We camped there last month and the hook-up area is still very cramped. We moved to a primitive site and were much happier.
It's a great park!

Johnna,
We were in your neck of the woods for the marathon. A friend of ours ran it, beautiful area you live in.
We were very impressed with Snow Canyon, great place for hikes and the campground looked nice. Didn't look like many big sites for RVs, with the exception of the ones with electricity up front. The ones we preferred were dry camping sites, but only a few would fit our 30' TT.

Anybody able to give me the weather picture for Snow Canyon in early March. I'm getting wimpy in my old age and can't take too much heat. Wolf can't handle it either. Actually I can't take much cold during the day either. Boy has my comfort zone narrowed! Cold at night is fine. Thanks in advance.

Snow Canyon hook ups sites are incredibly tight. Skip 'em if you can and go without services.

In March you need not worry about extremes of heat or cold, Wolfman. Aveerage temps range is 41 low to 67 high, mean temp is 57.
