Thanks Rocmoc,
You can't call a 1-800 number from Mexico so what the heck?

To dial 800 numbers from Mexico: Dial 001-880-last 7 digits of phone number. (It will not be toll free or cheap!)

Hope this helps.

Depends if it is 800, 866, 877, etc. That's why I posted the Telmex conversion chart. The charge is international calling rates, it is announced at the time you make the call.

The wife says we retained Good Sam Emergency Road Service Service a few years ago because they said if we needed a tow in Mexico, "just call a local tow service and keep the bill. When you return, your cost will be reimbursed. Maybe someone can verify that this is still the case. (if that is something you may require)

This isn't going to be much help, but? In 2003 our F-350 was sick in Mazatlan. No dealer would touch it, but with lots of hunting around we found a new little shop which would take it. They had an analizer, etc. It was a bad injector. Got the part from our dealer in OR, paid the tax since I needed to take the injector back a get the core charge refunded. The cost of repairs was a third of what we were quoted in the US. Wish I had the bill to give you the info, but it went when I traded it in for our current PU.

You Can call 800 Numbers however You need to use a Telus calling Card! Without that You have a Problem!
The last time I encountered a similar problem , also a Ford , the Owner had to transport His vehicle to Tuscon AZ. He was able to drive it from South of Pueto Vallarta , It was Gutless and He couldn't pull the trailer, but He Made It! The Truck was repaired in a couple of Days. He returned , finished His Vacation then Drove Home. The Next year He, Had a New Pickup , a different Brand. It also developed problems so Who knows what He is driving now.

WHERE ARE YOU STAYING IN MAZATLAN? I live here full time and will do whatever I can to help you. For starters, I have a Vonage line, and you are welcome to come to my home and use it to make calls to get the information you need. In addition, I have an xtra Mexico phone, and will loan it to you to use while you're working this out. I will get advice on mechanical help for you from my Mexican friends... and, if Bill can give me some kind of directions or landmarks to figure out where he got his truck repaired, I can maybe help by providing that information for you. So... I'll be watching for your location, and if you have a US or CAN cel phone with you, give me the number, and I'll try calling you that way. My home number here is: (669)668-35-71. If you have a phone you can use at the park to call me, I'll be here in the morning, and when I leave home, I'll have my cell phone with me. That number is: 044-669-147-3886. I'll watch for your reply here, and listen for your call. If you're able to call tonight, not a problem... I'm not tired yet, so will be up for another hour or so. Lee

I spoke to the dealer in Mazatlan on Wednesday. The head of the service department assured me that they are trained on diesel. The problem is that they have a lot of work and can't get the truck in until Monday and then it will take a day or two to do the diagnosis. He also said there would be no problem with the parts but I didn't ask him about warranty work.

BulletLS1, I had the honour of meeting Lee a couple of years ago in Celestino along with another friend Jim. She is a great lady and has a lot of knowledge of the area.
