I am in the process of getting AT&T internet service, using a Serra Mercury wireless usb. I would like to set up a router with it, what would be a good router to use in the motorhome? I want to run two computer from it while in the MH. Also, will be pulling the USB card out when not traveling to use in the house computer. Thanks Gary

If I understand, I use and recommend CradlePoint..I use the 350 and it has been great..Just spent a week in a campground at Talladega and had 8 or 10 people using with zero problems..

all of the cradlepoint routers support the USB mercury.
the CTR350 is the least expensive option and certainly "gets the job done"
if it were my money and my RV, i'd buy the MBR1000 for its future versatility.

Although I have the MBR1000, I'd like to know how it can be of benefit regarding future versatility.
Thanks for any help.

Widespread 4G coverage is still YEARS away, but the MBR1000 is already compatible with 4G modems from Sprint/Clear and the CTR350 is not capable of 4G (some kind of hardware limitation).

the MBR1000 also has an expresscard slot... so it can support more than just USB modems.

the CTR350 only has one ethernet port that can be used for either WAN (cable/dsl/satellite) input, or LAN output (for instance, desktop PC with no WiFi) -- while the MBR1000 has a dedicated WAN input and four LAN ports.

speaking of inputs, the MBR1000 can load balance between all active internet sources: that means one via WAN ethernet port, and three cellular modems (two USB and one expresscard)

the only router more versatile than the Cradlepoint MBR1000?

is the new Cradlepoint MBR1200 that can load balance across five cellular modems (one pcmcia, one expresscard and three USB) as well as two WAN ethernet inputs (perhaps campground WAN and satellite?)

mind you --i'm not trying to say the typical RVer *needs* to have seven different ways to connect to the internet all at once -- but can you really have too many ways to get online?

I guess I'll throw my vote in for the Cradlepoint MBR1000 as well - for all the reasons stated previously. It's a real plus to know that the MBR1000 is already 4G capable as all I'll need when it's readily available is a new USB modem.

Hmmmm, let's see now... That's five cell modems plus satellite service, so six data contracts at $50 or more per month each, for a total of... Sure! Why not!

I vote for the CradlePoint 350. You can't beat the price and it works perfectly for the DW and I.
