Thank you to everyone for your good wishes. We picked up Kit's ashes today and she will travel with us until the time when we can no longer travel and then we will find a special place for her. Our other cat, Shadow, still looks for her, but is adjusting as we all do. While I am sure that any vet, any where, would have been kind and gentle, we were very fortunate to be able to take her to her vet, who had treated here for a number of years, who laid out the options, both pros and cons to us, agreed with our decision to let her go, and who was very gentle with her.
