Come to think of it, my girlfriend did not like camping either. I met my wife while at the Albuquerque hot air balloon fiesta. We where both camping, and about 850 miles from home. She met up with me about 100 miles from my home a few months later. Again we where both camping, and she was looking for a warmer place to spend the winter.

I think the trailer and camping are things you want to keep in your life. Good thing you are not married yet. Hopefully she will begin to enjoy the camping!

Good Luck,

Fred.

A better question is, how did you have the stamina to complete a 5er purchase and a truck purchase in the same day? It has been my experience that both purchases are exhausting! Good for you getting through it.

Congrats on the new set-up.

Oh come on guys she isnt that mad, haha i'll be bringing it home soon, im going to go in and do a real hard PDI on it on monday afternoon, im pretty sure i know what to look for, and the hitch will be done hopefully by then, ive got bags to install and a compressor to mount tomorrow, im pretty pumped, and shes happy too. I am excited because it will be my first superglide experience, so im looking to see how that works out. i think the truck will do well with it, ive been doing the fifth wheel thing for a while with a half ton, so we will see what the differences are, and shes out with her parents showing them the truck (getting the 500 miles) on it for me tonight. Im as happy about this purchase as i was about buying my house at the beginning of the year...haha and it damn near cost me as much ouch, but im not taking any of it with me when i go so theres that.

I will try and get some pics of this setup on here for you guys.

I'd like to give you one more bit of advice, Mike. This may be the last best time to buy a motorcycle as well. Can't get any worse than it is.

ive spent enough this year, but ive done my best to try and buy things while this economy is crap, ive been blessed to have a good job in the agricultural industry and my gf is a nurse, so we are doing ok, but this has been a great year to buy things like campers and airplanes and boats because some of the tax incentives...

Not only would I be mad I would also worry. Any truck or trailer that has a shipping weight of 100720 pounds would not be my friend.

"The post says he purchased that combo... Why criticize his purchase. The Montana 3000 is one of SMALLER and LIGHTER Montana Models and the truck CAN stay within the spec's. I am sure you will both enjoy the truck and Montana."

I did not say anything about pin weight . At 14,220 GVWR ony the 2955 and the 3150 are lighter. He does not give the complete configuraton of the truck./ But any of the configurations have a payload cap of over 3K. What is your problem Brad...?????
I'm not the one with the problem Rich, I'm just trying to be factual. Using your own rhetoric - the gross weight is nearly irrelavent to the truck tonnage because its the drive train the pulls it. Tonnage is all about pin weight, and that "little" Montana has a higher pin weight than my 3400RL.

Not saying it can't be done - just being factual about the "real" concern of that Montana and a 2500 PU over your generalization that makes it sound better than it is.

As you like to say "it's all there- look it up!"
