I have a friend who is interested in the Painless Model 64065 Power Module. I have found many ads for this unit, but, I can't find any user discussion about it. Can anybody help with actual use information?

Here is some food for thought and the reason I have not added a module to my truck. These modules are nothing more then re-programmers some are piggy backed to the stock ECM and others download their program on to the stock ECM.

Either way they remove some very important safeguards that are in the stock ECM one of the MOST IMPORTANT ones is the full throttle sensor. This is needed to protect the torque converter and transmission if you plant your right foot the ECM will defuel and retard the timing for 2/3 seconds so the torque of the engine does not destroy the torque converter and transmission.

There are a lot of other items are removed or tweaked to the point where you will do serious damage to your truck. The Manufacturers have these trucks (older 4/5 speed trucks mainly) have them maxed out already when it comes to the driveline (transmission, drive-shafts, and rear ends)so just tell your buddy to keep that in the back of his mind please.
