I asked my husband more questions, and it was not that the rubber roof would only last for 3 years, but that it would cost the same as doing the sealant for 3 years. That makes more sense.

Camping World said our roof is deteriorating. We have never done anything to damage it. Does this sound reasonable for a 15 year old motorhome? It has not been garaged.

I like some of your suggestions. Thank you

A new rubber roof will last a heck of a lot longer than 3 years. Sounds like they want you sell you a new RV.

If you have a fiberglass fabricator in your area, they would be able to shoot a layer of fiberglass on your roof and it shouldn't cost all that much. I had some marine plywood that I was using to replace a deck in a boat fiberglassed on both sides to waterproof it, that is not that different from your roof.

That is a very subjective statement since we don't know what they mean by "deteriorating" ... it could be the caulking, the actual roof cracking, or even just showing it's age. W/O more information and pics would be great to help us it's really hard to give you even good guesses as to what to do or consider.

I like some of your suggestions.

Posting some good pics of your roof will go a long, long, way to help in any suggestions we might give. Without seeing what we are actually talking about is like the blind leading the blind ... not too good. Thank you

A quick and easy gel cote application over the existing glass will cure any "deterioration" problems. No wood or addidional glass application required. It's like paint; it rolls on.

Get that second opinion from a fiberglass man. I have done lots of FG work, building boats, FG decks, prototyping and more. The best thing about FG it can be repaired at low cost and can be done so it looks like new.

If a spray-on bed liner works, is cheap and easy to install, why wouldn’t any RV or utility trailer mfg’s be using it??? Or are there any that do???

Cheap and easy is right up the RV industries alley…
