Animal Planet! One story in the commercial that they will tell is a truck driver travelling with a black cat.

I watched this and when they did the segment on Bombay's they describe our Shadow to a "T". Even the pictures of the Bombay with the trucker - if you had substituted our MH for the truck and Dave walking with Shadow around the RV Parks it would be exactly the same! Shadow was abandoned as a 6 week old kitten and even at that age, she immediately took over the household and was the 'boss' of the two older cats who tolerated her antics (like old aunts), was always vocal and has always been my husband's cat. In fact she can't wait until I get up in the morning so she can cuddle up against him - all the while looking at me with the "this is my place" look in her eye!

We have an 8 yr old black cat, but she is more mine than the husband's, although if I am not home, will make do with him. We took her from Texas to Georgia in May in the RV. It was the first long trip for us in the RV. She did real well, except when I had to lock her in the bathroom/toilet area and close the door so we could have a recall on the lp tank checked out. She did not want to have anything to do with me for 2 hours, which was good since I was driving. I did not have the camera to take her picture with her back hunched and the tail like a question mark. Talk about vocal, she usually isnn't unless we have gone off and not filled the self feeders at home.
Right now she is our oldest and the youngest is a 2 yr old male flame point siamese. We have 4 cats at this time. We put our oldest to sleep in May. She had health problems, was blind and becoming disoriented like she had dementia. She was a 17 1/2 yr old seal point siamese.
My husband's unit in Vietnam was the Black Cats and that is why we got her. She and I will run away sometime soon.

lizbard, you're a mess! ;-) My tomcat"Bobby Seale" is solid black and I think he's the finest cat God ever made, but his sister "Moon" runs a VERY close second. She's a tuxedo cat, last member of a feral colony my coworkers and I took 16 years to clear up. (spay/neuter adopt out). My first cat was a little black Manx named Runt. She was very sweet, and gone too soon at 5 years old, a victim of flv. Guess I think cats are all special, but the black ones are extra special to me.

Our black cat "Raven" sat beside me as I read this thread. I believe she was trying to figure out how to use the keyboard! Raven is a great traveler. She and our maine coon mix, Ming Yeow, love to sit on my lap in their large cat bed as we travel.
The night time cat races are an experience, when sleeping in a Roadtrek!
Raven was adopted from the Woodville Animal Shelter Cat Rescue in Northeast Texas. We chose to adopt a black cat because when you visit this rescue the black cats are the ones to greet you.
No one in this small East Texas town will adopt a black cat. If anyone is traveling through East Texas and would like to adopt a black cat contact the director, ktaylor167aol.com.
The delightful special black cats in Woodville would love to find forever homes!
