I'm looking for some CVC wisdom; a dealer called me with a 2002 Roadtrek 200 Popular for sale. Low miles - 19K. Since it's 200 miles away, I haven't seen it, but the asking price sounds pretty high to me. They want $43,000; NADA shows $26,000. These particular models do seem hard to find, but man, that price seems high. Or is NADA way off?
Thoughts?

Love my RT 200V, but that price seems WAY to high to me. Without any research--top of my head, I would say something like very low $30s at most if it is in pristine condition.

Call and ask them what their SERIOUS price is. If that's it then stay home.

I agree with the others, $43K is too much, you need to let that dealer know that you're interested in the unit but not at their asking price. Tell them you want the out-the-door price and if good, you'll drop by to see it. Check other sources for a B such as Craigslist and eBay and also let the dealer down in Fife know you're serious about getting one and they can be on the lookout. Just wondering if this unit was in Portland area?

When I see a motorized RV that is 8 years old with 19,000 miles, I ask myself was this used very little, or did someone live in it? You have to see it, drive it, smell it, and get a complete history/car-fax and then make your offer accordingly. If the dealer called you he must know you are looking for one and that would without a doubt influence his asking price. Try to find a friend that will go in and get a sense of what they really are trying to get for it ahead of time.

Yes, it has low miles, but with the age the tires should be replaced and other things on an RV age also regardless of miles. The price is way too high no matter what. As was mentioned earlier, I would call Great American in Fife and tell them what you are looking for. If you want a realistic idea of prices check out Van City.

They are a long way from you, but they will pick you up at the airport and I have never heard a bad report about them.
Good luck.

You might have a problem finding where that dealer is, because he is on another Planet.
I just bought a NEW 2009 Winnebago ERA Class B with Mercedes Diesel for only $25,300. more than their asking price. It has 6'3" headroom and everything.

About $15,000 too high if you were to ask me. No matter how clean it is, I don't think it's worth over $30,000.
