Not sure, but I think the twin sister to the W'bago LeSharo was the Itasca Pulsar, which John may have been thinking about. Slightly different front-end styling.... and the very first RV I found in a local classified paper when I started looking for a "small RV" 'way back when. Fortunately they didn't answer the phone when I called, so I took time to do some web research....

Yes. The V-6 is pretty peppy, according to a friend who's worked on one. I followed one up US 441 on the NC side the GSMNP, and it never slowed down.
Of course, yes, they & the LeSharo are C's. W'bago started with a VW or Renault FWD van cab-only. Dunno whose back axle & suspension were used.

LeSharo used Renault cab and chassis. Some were gas others were diesel. I have read about some people putting Buick V6s in them.
Rialta uses VW cab and chassis.
Both had the coachwork from the cab back built by Winnebago.

To many things on you mind I guess, or rushing around and not thinking straight I supose.
I love the business 100.00 bucks for 30 seconds work, one retired locksmith.
Purchase a shower curtain hook, and put a spare key on it, attach it to a wireing harness somewhere under the TV or Trailer. you will never need to call a locksmith or AAA.
one can conquer anything with a good dose of thought.
tried all the normies and nothing worked, all windows fully closed.
simple, just drifted the hinge pins from the coach door.
no damage at all to anything.
85 lesharo 2.2 diesel with 59k and i love it.
wonder how much this engine can take?
thinking about looking at boost, injection pressure, duration and timing.
don't know if there is a programmer for this.
researching i think the trouble people had with these aluminum engines is due to lugging thus over heating.
why did they vent crank case gasses into the turbo???????????
this coats the vains and cooler with oil sludge, bad thing.
why didn't they punch a hole in the middle of the hood for the turbo to pull cool air?????
why didn't they intercool behind the front bumper or any place not directly under the hood??????????

We have locked ourselves out of our Xplorer twice while camping. We have Good Sam. Called them and they rescued us both times.
You'd think we would have learned a lesson after the first time but NO! The second time we were camped at a park and we were fishing in a bass tournament. We just fished in a cove near the van and waited for the Good Sam designated service to arrive.

i just resently purchased the lesharo and was cleaning it up.
running in and out didn't know i had locked the coach door, the cab doors were obviously locked.
later found a spare set of keys in the drawer under the right back seat.
they are now in a spot i can get to from the outside.
thanks.

Have a spare key made at wall- mart, check it to make sure it works ,and put it in a magnetic key box and put it under the bumper where it can be retrieved.Key boxes at wall-mart also.

If you belong to an RV service club like Good Sam, they will come unlock you for free. One locksmith visit will about pay for this service.
They will also come out and put your spare on for you if you have a flat. I have no desire to wrestle tires on my RV so this also was a big reason for me go buy Good Sam service.
A hide-a-key on the exterior/underside of your RV is a must.

Why, oh why, oh why? Winnebago basically did nothing to alter the engine and I would guess that Renault never imagined these things would be operated under this type of load.
Why, when Winnebago first built them, did they route the positive 12V wire to the generator (on those equipped) in such a way that they got pinched under the service tray/mount, literally causing hundreds to burn to the ground? I can't begin to estimate how many burned carcasses I saw coming into the dealer where I worked at the time on flatbeds. We also did a lot of recall work on them.
As I recall, there were several configurations of outside compartments depending on whether or not the unit was equipped with a generator. On some, and if memory serves me correctly, you could squeeze through the rear compartment and come up underneath the dinette. Though most manufacturers now seal off the storage compartments, back then this was a common way to gain access to most RV's as the compartment keys were, and still are, very common.
