Is anyone aware of any RV parks or campgrounds open during the winter in southern Illinois? I'm looking for an overnight spot along I-57 and can't seem to find any open after Christmas. I'm sure the water will be turned off, but all I need is electricity anyway. Thanks for any help.

Whittington Woods Campground. Exit #77 on I-57, just north of Benton, IL.
Just don't take the last site the night we plan to stop there ;-)

Marion Campground is open year around. Easy access right off I-57 at Exit 53. You can see the campground sign from I-57 to the east.
Camped in every state but Alaska

Hilltop Campground just east at exit 40 (Goreville exit). Close to I57 and about 20 bucks/night. Nice for overnights. Not sure of season length so would need to call.

The Benton KOA is open all year for the first time this year.

Just slightly further on is Town & Country Camping at Sikeston, Mo.
I just talked to them this afternoon; price $23 for W/E/S/ WIFI and cable - Passport America - open all year. They are located near jct. of I55 & I57.

Ferne Clyffe SP might be another option. I've camped at Giant City in February but that is a little farther out of your way. Also,,,Fort Defiance at the confluence of the Miss/Ohio.
