Sometimes it seems as if the simplest things are the hardest. I want to use either Google maps or Bing to plan a trip with driving directions. AND to be able to save the map work in progress and come back later and continue with the map where i left off? Has anyone figured out how to save a map of driving directions and come back to it later to continue the planning process?

Well, the approach I use is to keep the map window open as long as necessary. I don't logout (I would switch to the login window which preserves my session and put the computer to sleep), and I don't shut down the computer.

The only time the computer goes through a shut down is when Apple sends out an update that requires a restart. If that happened I would delay the update until after I finished what I was doing.

In google maps U can save your trips to my trips... also found this link that should help......clicky for google help for trip planing

I dont see a "my trips" option to save. You save to "My Maps". But when you do this, it doesn't maintain any driving directions or routes. It just shows the points on the map and you have to start over to do the route plan.

Am I missing something?

Yes I am missing something!!! I just went back and found that they have CHANGED the DEFAULT PIXEL size for a route to 1 PIXEL when you re-edit a saved map! Why do they do that??!!

It makes the route invisible and makes it look like you do not have anything but start and end points on the map. Geeesh! After all this time and i just happened on it. Change the pixels in the route marker to 5 or 6 and it gives you the same look as when you first start.

As I said earlier.. some of the simplest things are made to be much harder than they should be.
