Just retired first time south in the MH
We leave for Florida in about a month.
Question is. Can I put canned goods in MH for the trip down. I am sure they might freeze overnight while I am in the nice warm hotel. Does freezing ruin the contents. I am fully aware they could burst etc. but wondered what others do.

we shop along the way. unless you find a deal at a wholesale store at a price cheap enough to off set the cost of transportation.
the heavier you are, the lower the fuel mileage.

Why carry it all the way down there? Buy what you need when you arrive.
Otherwise stay in the MH and keep the heat on. If they will freeze so will everything else in your MH.

Why stay in a motel if you have a motor home?
Just leave the heat on... OR drive farther south, stay in Walmart and pay the walmart camping tax, that being spending money in their store.

They have a wonderful super market in Florida; Publix.
The canned food from down in the South tastes better, anyway.
Plus, there is no sales tax on groceries in Florida.

Maybe I missed something! Your traveling in a MH and are spending the nights in motels along the way??? While in cold regions you will park the MH out front and not keep some heat on? Do you stop at gas stations to use the potty?
Just wondering!

OPPs sorry put this in wrong forum, not camping enroute since not many camps open in the winter here in the frozen north. Current temp is 19, will camp from Nashville down.

To prevent carrying the extra weight we carry only what we need for the next couple of days and stock up when we get to the destination.

Nice warm motel? What is the MH for? I travel, like everyone else that has a MH, pull over in a campground or Wal-Mart, turn the heater on and night, night! My stocked food is nice and warm along with us. No tax on food in Penna. I would rather take what I need for the trip down and get the bulk of what I need down South, certainly noT at PUBLIX, they are high priced!
