Sorry I tried using search but the word tow, and towing are used in so many places it’s really hard to find advice on getting a AAA or some other “Tow truck" insurance option.

So I have my wife, daughter, and myself that drive 1 of 6 car-trucks and it just seems logical. + we have a 35 foot 5th wheel trailer. So what do you have and what are some good companies – plans out there so if the worst happens, truck and trailer needs to be hauled I’m not out a hundred’s or thousands…

IMHO Good Sam, all vehicles in family covered and will have 5th wheel moved also. Used once miles from civilization in Texas and once near home. Satisfied both times.

We use CAA (AAA). They have an RV plan. Only had to use it once, but everything worked ot well. When our previous truck broke down on the bridge at a Canada US border crossing we had to get a local tow truck operator to tow the truck on a flatbed, and a second truck for the fiver. I paid up front on my credit card (around $300)and submitted the reciept to CAA. Got a full refund for my towing costs no problem.

Do not want to high jack this post, for the first time the other day here in Texas I saw a pick up in tow with the 5er still attached. Can that be right? Seems it would be important that your service know how to do it properly.

I don't think that AAA does that here in the USA.

I see nothing wrong with that. I had a transmission line fail in WY, which dumped all the fluid. The tow truck driver disconnected the driveshaft and towed the rig to a campground. He positioned the 5er, we unhooked it, and he proceded to the shop. GS ERS paid the bill.

I pay a little extra for my State Farm policies to include roadside assistance. I pay up front, then submit receipts for reimbursement. Haven't had to use it yet with any of our cars or truck/5h wheel so cannot attest to how well it works.
