So I'm camped out here at Roadrunner 14 day at Quartzsite and in the last few days about ten various rigs have pulled in (some Too Close)but anyway. Today It is Very Windy with the kind of gusts that make just opening the door a job. So far I've seen about eight rigs leave and take to the road. This is the kind of day that blows 5Th wheels and TT's over and make class A's a handfull. Why not wait just one or two days and arive alive?

They'll learn. For some maybe it's macho to ignore wind, but sooner or later they'll be hit with zero visibility, or being blown into the oncoming lane. I don't want to be driving in blowing dust simply because the engine has to breathe too! Actually being flipped over takes somewhere in the vicinity of 100mph wind.

I'm in a dirt parking lot in Indio (Windio!) and man it's a mess out there!

I stay parked when the wind blows. Get enough hot air from the passanger side, don't need any more from outside the MH.

Tis another fine day to serve in and for the glory of the Corps. Every day is a holiday and every meal a feast.

I was on I71 a few years back and encountered a severe cross wind I thought was going to blow me off the road if not tip my rig over.I was never so happy to see a rest stop, and I was only in a TC on a dully.

Arizona + wind = dust storms!

Not a good idea!

It depends on the direction of the wind. In front (bad mileage) or in back is OK but gusts to the side can be trouble.

Some people (me included) have limited vacation time, so have to stick to a schedule to get back home on time.

I'd bet the wife said "Dear, its too windy to drive today." Of course he's gonna hit the road! Never let the wife be right. Speaking from experience that is....

I do not like to haul in the wind. I already have to watch out for the crazy drivers and road hazards, I don't want to have to try and keep 43 feet from sliding into a lane with some help from the wind.
