I carry a small Gerber single blade as a pocket carry for over 20 years. I have had two of them, lost the first one somewhere, I don't know. When I go off on mission trips to Nicaragua/Honduras/Belize I take a Gerber Gator lockblade for defense and other uses. When so many people down there pack a pistol, it seems usless taking a knife to a gun fight, but in almost ten years of travels, I have only used it for friendly purposes......

I've got a large variety of knives scattered through out the house.
For defense I still have my little knife issued to air crews. It has a saw tooth back and a leather handle with a six sided nut as the butt. It has a sharpening stone in the front of the sheath.
Never carried it for that purpose. I've got a Sikes Faiburn dagger somewhere. I think that is the name. I bought it a army surplus, in the sixties, unissued. I think that would probably be one of the best fighting knives.
Any who which is better for sharpening wheels or belts?
Bass Pro shop has a belt sharpener with a variety of grit belts for about 80.00.
