Hi folks.

Just purchased a 2008 Kodiak Scamper Hybrid. Am brand new at this so, really glad I found this site. Can anyone tell me the fresh water capacity of the holding tank and, how will I know it's full?

Thanks much.

Dont know capacity, google it. You will know its full when it comes out overflow, or back out the fill hole. Have fun

Yep you fill it till it overflows. If you need to know the capacity and the belly is covered so you can't MEASURE the tank and do the math, one pretty easy method is to turn on a hose and time how long it takes to fill a one gallon jug. Then you fill a completely empty tank and work the gallons based on the time until it spills over.

A Couple of things. no one mentioned to put about a 1/4 oz of bleach in the fresh water tank, fill it up run the water thru your line then dump it. This sanitizes the system good idea once a season or more. secondly you will want to fill at the CG because water weighs a lot and most often can adversely the handling of trailers.

fresh water capacity will be listed on an info label inside one of the cabinet doors along with dry weight of trailer. You'll know it's full when you fill it and it comes out the tube, or when your tank monitor says it's full. just fill it and then you'll know for sure.

Fresh water capacity includes the 6 gallons in the water heater. Capacity minus 6 gallons minus a gallon or two in the bottom tank below the outlet is the useful capacity.

Here's some great camping spots in Ontario:
Thousand Islands near Kingston
Algonquin Park both east and west gate areas
Barrie North KOA off Hwy 400
Niagara Peninsula and Escarpment Area
Hwy 21 Grand Bend all the way north to Tobermory
Checkout the Ontario Private Campgrounds Website for tons more:
visit them @ www.CampinginOntario.ca

A number of campsites open as early as April 1st in Southwestern Ontario.

Happy Camping!
