I stopped by to look at my camper in storage in preparation for actually using it and noticed that near the bottom of the filon on the cabover portion, it was nonsmooth near the bottom where the trim attaches. There are no leaks. I can't remember if it looked that way before or not.

In any case, how do you tell if you have filon damage besides obvious bubbles, etc. The areas seem hard to the touch with no give and is no more than maybe two inches from bottom up.

I know, pictures would help, but I forgot to take a pic.

Is it cold enough to freeze there? Might be hard but full of ice.

I have some ripples on mine near the lower trim. Been there since day one and never got bigger or changed. In my case at least I believe its not sub surface issues but just the way it is.

It hasn't been cold enough to freeze for a while.

Must be nice not to have freezing temps.

You might have had a leak and what you are seeing is swollen wood? Like you said, pics would be nice.

JIM, I HAVE THE SAME BUBBLE ON MINE, ABOUT 2 1/2" DIAMETER, 2" UP ON DRIVERS SIDE. IT'S BEEN LIKE THAT FOR 2 YEARS, NEVER NOTICE IT GETTING ANY BIGGER, NOR HAS IT EVER SEEMED WET. EVERYTHING SEALED UP AROUND THERE. I'LL POST A PIC TOMORROW EVENING.

Best way to know is take the molding off just below the spots. If there is discoloration or moisture beneath the molding, that's your sign. If not, apply new sealant and reattach the molding.

Mine has had a bulge where the overhead meets the camper body on one side and a a matching concave (or is convex?.... ok a depression) on the other side since it was new. When I called about it, the builder said it was because of the way the filon formed around things behind it. Even stopped at the factory last summer and had them look at it and was told the same thing. Looked at a new one sitting at the factory and it had the same things, so I've quit worrying about it.

Jim, I have the same thing on my Bachelor, can only see it when I look a certain way. Doesn't seem to signal a problem. Never changes.

I also have some filon that is funny looking on the rear wing pass side. Looks like it has seperated. Been that way since we bought it. It is most severe where it looks like the alum tubing was welding the the camper frame. Its ripply a bit, but hard and firm. I think where mine it its just the way it was finished.
