Both of those things are for keeping heat out (summer) or keeping heat in (winter).

Popup gizmos are basically just tarps that are custom sized for the bunk ends. They are made of "space blanket" material. Thes is not thesame stuff as the emergency space blankets but works the same. The shiny, reflective side goes up. This helps keep the sun from heating up the bunk ends and therefore the rest of the PUP. I have and use these and recommended them wholeheartedly, especially if end up in sunny spots. If you camp mostly under full shade, and not during colder weather, then I would not get them. I am not associated with the company.
check out their website at www.popupgimos.com. I would make it a link but I'm only phone.

The reflectix is cut by you to fit the windows inside the pup for the same purpose. Found at bigbox home improvement stores.

Thanks Bondebond, I do not see us needing these, ours is a hard sided A-Frame type trailer, no bed pullouts. In fact it has a full time queen bed with heated mattress.

You might want to join the Yahoo group;
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/alinerchaleta-frames/

It originally was for Aliners and Chalets because your trailer didn't exist. You are welcome to join with any Aframe camper.

We’ll here is to being a dummy. After getting all this great advice I did not plug my trailer in nor turn on the refrigerator; but I also failed to disconnect my battery and it went completely dead. Kind of surprised a brand new battery would go dead in just a couple weeks of storage. I have it plugged into power now to recharge.

So here is my question, does anyone have some simple instructions on creating a battery kill switch, that I could just switch when it goes into storage?

Simplest thing is to just pull the main fuse. Second simplest is disconnect the ground cable.

There are numerous discussions on here about adding a disconnect switch if you want to do a search.

Like I said before, what converter do you have? If you have a three stage converter and have power available just leave it plugged in 24/7.

How can I tell if I have a three stage converter? the documentation just says 35 Amp Converter with Built in Battery Charger.

Either you can Google the brand and model number or list it here and we can tell you.

You should have a manual for each appliance and component in your RV including the converter. If you didn't get an envelope of manuals and documentation go back to the dealer and demand them.

If you don't have the manual, for now you can look at the converter and jot down the brand and model number.

A clue, if you do have the manual, is that it will mention things like "bulk" "float" "three-stage" "smart charger" and the like. The absence of these usually indicates that it is not, as manufacturers are proud to put such verbiage in their literature. I agree with the idea of, if you can find a manufacturer name and model number on the converter, post it here. Hopefully it's not an Elixir unit. I didn't realize how happy I was to kick that thing to the curb.

OK it is a WFCO Ultra III WF-8740P Power center and appears to have a three-stage switching, so I guess I am good to just leave it plugged in.
