We were in Salt Lake City last week and on Thursday we were RV shopping. While trying to find a particular RV dealer in Draper, we came across the CW store in Draper. They have a HUGE inventory on the lot, including Montana FWs, which we are leaning toward.
We went into the showroom and looked around, and went inside a couple of units. I made eye contact with the only other person in the showroom, a lady talking on a cell, but who looked like she worked there. She finally asked me if she could help. I said we would like to look at the Montanas outside and she replied she was "too busy" and continued her cell call.
We went outside and looked thru every Montana plus a whole lot more. We were on the lot around an hour, went back thru the showroom and left without ever seeing another sales person. (There were NOT any salespeople on the lot, nor were there other prospective customers.)
As we went out the showroom door, the receptionist said "come back again" Hard to imagine a sales company without sales reps! Maybe that is why they have so MANY units on the lot!

You have to use "strong arm" tactics to buy from some dealers

Hello Marcus??? You really need to deligate some responsiblities to someone in which they oversee your stores. That type of stuff is unacceptable. Too busy?????? Why did the sales person not take down the customers information???

I had the same experience with a local dealer here. I called the owner of the dealership and met with him and he was was great to deal with. We ended up buying a trailer directly from him and what we thought as a great deal. He threw in a 7 year warranty on all the appliances as well as a few other nice things. If they have what you want you may try and contact the owner or GM of the dealership. I think they can make a good deal and cut the salesperson's commission out of the deal for you.

I had a salesperson blow me off one time at a non CW lot because of the way I was dressed. It was a Saturday and I had been out working on something and was looking for a new TT. I went in looking a little ragged and the sales person took a look at me and pointed down the street and said "The USED TT's are down there" and turned around and never said another word. Their loss because I bought a NEW TT from another dealership. Some people do not take their work serious regardless of what it is.

Isn't that funny.. because we've had a very good impression of that same store in Draper.
Maybe you got there at lunch time.

I bought 6 used cars from a local car dealer over the years. One day I asked to look at a new car and the owners son said "your not going to buy a new car". I went to a dealer in the next town and they sold me my first new car.

Friends of mine Mother who was recently widowed and decided to continue full timing solo. She went into an RV dealership to buy a new MH. They completely ignored her and were just short of rude to her as she tried to get a salesperson to help her look at the MH's.
So she went to a different dealership that accepted the fact that, yes, an elderly single woman CAN buy a MH. She bought a brand new Pace Arrow from them and then drove it back to the first dealership and pulled in, honked the horn to show them what they had missed in a sale/commissions along with a few choice words.

As a commissioned salesperson for over 30 years, I'm astounded by stores that promote the fact that there are "no commissioned salespeople". Simply put, they will get paid whether they sell or not, so personal cell phone conversations, extended breaks, and bs'ing in the bullpen is a lot easier than learning your product, and helping customers find what they are looking for.
