I am wanting to tow a fifth wheel and a boat. I am looking for a late model 5'R that is no more than 26 feet long , from pin to rear bumper. My boat ,truck and combined overall length restricts me to this size in my state. Please advise me of decent quality 5'R s of this size capable of towing a 3000 lb., boat motor trailer combo.

Thanks

Basically what you need is a Fifth Wheel that has a frame you can have a hitch installed on and also ensure it has a carrying capacity (CCC) to not only hold all your goods but also the 600 or so lbs the hitch of the boat will add. Throw out a few ideas and perhaps we can tear them apart. I think the choices will be great. You didnt mention if you needed bunks.. if you want a full profile or low, rear kitchen, rear living, slides/no slides, the truck you are using and it's limits.. Not enough information. best to do some searches online and they provide a list if you want a valid response.

Check into electric brakes for the boat or an independent brake system & check with your insurance company to see if they will cover a double tow...some will not. You could be safe in your state but illegal in other states. 19 states it is illegal to double tow....just a heads up.

Just avoid the 5ers designed as lightweights that have trimmed weight from the frames. If the name of the trailer has anything like "lite", "helium technology" or something similar they are usually not suitable for a hitch.

Also add the boat weight to your 5er and make sure your hitch has enough carrying capacity for both combined.

i double tow with a puma 27 footer. had a experienced welder put a new bumper with a hitch built in welded 4 feet up the frame with several cross braces welded in all 1/4 wall steel it looks overkill but more is better. another thing is to brace up your leaf spring hangers with something like the x-factor. because now there will different forces on them towing the second trailer as most of these are just barely adequate for the job
ive also heard that rear kitchens should be avoided because of the extra weight

The Jayco Superlite HT 23.5 RBS come from the factory with a receiver hitch and 4 pole wiring already installed.

They dropped the 24-5N last summer, there are still a few on dealer lots. But yes, they are rated to tow something with about 100 lbs of hitch weight and around 1000 lbs GVW

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

Nothing about that in their website - only talks about a frame prep for a bike rack or slide out tray. Are you sure this was factory installed and do you know what the rating is? I can't imagine anything beyond a 1" receiver on that lightweight.
