Looking to replace or beloved Saturn Vue as she is simply too tired and worn out. Retirement time is here for her.

Anyone using a Chevy Equinox or GMC Terrain? Curious as to any issues, real life mileage you get and would you do it again?? Will add a Blue Ox base plate and a supplemental braking system, probably an SMI again.

Thanks for any user input.

We own a 2011 Terrain SLT. We have not had one problem with it and love to tow it behind our MH. It is the loaded model with a v6 AWD. I do not get very good mileage around town (15 MPG) and OK mileage on hwy (22 MPG). We use the blue ox base plate and it hides away so nice when not in use. If you are wanting better mileage then stay away from AWD. It just sucks the mileage down the drain. Hope this helps.

We've been towing our AWD Terrain since 2010 on many trips. We simply pull 1 fuse, hook it up 4 wheels down, put it in neutral, turn key to accessory, and off we go. At lunch and first thing in the morning (while still hooked up) I start the Terrain and let it idle in each gear for 30-45 sec's always ending up in drive, then shifting to neutral before shutting it off. Turn the key to accessory position, leave key in, wiggle steering wheel to be sure it's not locked and I'm good to go.

Our Equinox is now 2 years old. Towed about 12000 mi.with no problems. All around driving 23mpg. Not driven long freeway distance to get a mpg. Don't believe it will get the 32mpg advertised for a 4 cyl. FWD. Hope this helps. I really enjoy driving it. PM if you have further questions. We traded a Vue for this car which we liked also. This car is a better vehical in my opinion
