Does anyone besides us decide last minute to take off and go camping for just one night? I know it kinda sounds crazy with the gas prices like they are but we are doing it anyway. The CG is only about 40 minutes away so the drive is not that bad. Sometimes we just need to get away. The way we work we have to go when we can.

Sounds great to me, back in the day with kids it took more planning for us but I wish I could have done what you are doing.

Used to have friends that went to the local State Park & set up
the camper for 2 weeks, hubby went to work each weekday from there while wife & kids camped.
As said, any day of camping is better than sitting at home, no matter how you have do it.

Honestly, a little burdensome, but I can understand the spontaneity. It can spice up life at times.

We're waiting for MI to warm up for a couple days and we will then go 10 miles away for two nights.

If we need to do anything at home it can still be done but getting away is great

We will not camp for just one night - too much time would be used setting up and breaking down. However, we will take off for a two-day unplanned weekend getaway, especially in the spring when weather is a factor.

Almost every weekend this time of year. I work 6-7 days a week. When I work 6, I head home, hop in the rig, turn the key and go within 10 minutes. We travel any where from 15 to 50 minutes and have the choice of 7 campgrounds. Sometimes I pay for an extra night and stay Sunday night and leave 5:00 AM to get home in time to get ready for work.

Full timing it since July 2012 My pics
