I have a leak on the bottom of my fresh water tank, where the drain comes out. Is there a material or glue I can put on it to fix the leak? I was hoping this would be considerably cheaper than getting a new tank.
Thanks

I would recommend mighty putty. There is also a version of it at home depot that is sold in the plumbing section. Comes in a tube with a red top. Just use it liberally over the whole area of the leak. I even used this to repair a large hole in my rzr rim and it is still holding air a year later!

What ever you use be sure it is approved for fresh water as this is your drinking water supply. Also be confident it will hold. Personally I would replace the tank. Best of luck.

Another option is JB Weld.

Is it a flat surface? Can you use Eternabond tape? I used Eternabond to patch a leak on the top of my water tank over a year ago and haven't had any trouble since then. But you have it worse with a leak on the bottom. My leak on the top wasn't so bad.

Some plastics can be "welded." Find out from the mfgr what type of plastic, and search for plastic welding and you may luck out.

Try plastic welding maybe?
It's pretty soft plastic, should make a good weld.

If the tank is made of polypropylene welding is the only permanent fix, the other stuff might work, might not. You will find out which in the middle of a vacation trip.
