We just started full-timing this year. We have 10-14 days to spend in SC between 1-15 May. We would like to stay on the east half of SC as we need to be in Emerald Isle NC on the 19th. Any other full-timers in the area that could recommend a place? Any favorite campgrounds to visit? Any other must see/do places in the area. Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks
Brad and Diane

We have stayed at Myrtle Beach State Park very nice and they even have a limited number of full hookups. There is another state park just south of Myrtle - Huntington Beach SP - full hookups limited there too. Both are nice and by the beach.

SC state parks allow you to stay 28 days (but my only experience is off season) also the have half price camping in the winter

Have you been to Charleston? You can use the Free Trolley to get around town and visit .

There is Fort Sumter/Fort Moultrie National Monument, Charles Pickney National Historic Site, Drayton Hall, Magnolia Plantation, and Caw Caw Interpretive Center to visit just to name a few of the attractions.

There are several decent RV parks and a county park to choose from check RV Park Reviews to see what suites your taste and needs.

We stayed three weeks at Oak Plantation in Charleston. A bit pricey but close in for the sights. Then we did four weeks at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach. Like them both very much but then again it wasn't 'prime season'.

James Island County park in Charleston is a great place to stay and visit Charleton area. It is a "must visit" place.

We've been to Myrtle Beach with kids and to Charleston fulltiming. As adults, we much prefer Charleston history, Aquarium and downtown city market.

All of the RVP's were full back in 2005, because the bridge construction workers were still there. So we had to stay at a KOA in Ladsen.

Another vote here for James Island County Park in Charleston. And one for Willow Tree near Myrtle Beach. Both are first class places. James Island is really close to SO much to do. Willow Tree is a resort atmosphere, but a bit removed from the activity of Myrtle Beach. Love them both!
