Hello,
I'm thinking about heading to Mono Lake, Bodie and the hot springs this weekend. Does anybody have suggestions on what camp grounds to stay at this early in the season, or possibly a spot which is not in a camp ground. We are in a 21' toy hauler.
Thanks,
Joe

I've no house in the city, just a camping tent in the wild.

Well,
We decided not to go to mono lake for the first voyage in the toy hauler due to kids having appointments on fri and monday. Just not enough time for the trip. We ended up at Stampede Res. and the weather was great. One camp ground open with no fees. Fishing was bad but we did get to see the meteor through the sky and the boom was intense. Mono Lake in a few weeks when we can spend the time.

I am not sure how close it is to mono lake but have you been to Toms place. I went maybe 7 years ago so obviously it has been awhile but the scenery is gorgeous and their are hot springs nearby. We just tent camped back then but I look forward to heading back. You may want to check that out. There are a bunch of campsites on recreation.gov such as Tuff campground.
Check it out and have a great trip! Let us know what you end up deciding on and how it goes.

Yes, a ton of sites but most open on the 4/23 and the first part of may. I was hoping for some boondock locations.
Thanks,
