I'm thinking about pavers instead of concrete. Anybody out there had any installed?

In any case I'd use some 2 X 12's on the stabilizer pads if you are going to deploy them.
And possibly 2 X 12's under the tires for a few months or so while the concrete hardens up.

With a 6" slab, both wire mesh and rebar, I waited five weeks, but 30 days should be sufficient. You can research concrete strength with time on the web. Concrete hardens for a full year, but should have rated strength within 30 days.
You also should water it at least once per day for the first week. Slow drying improves the final strength.

Not sure if it still holds true, but years ago they also said to keep the concrete damp for a few days,Just mist it with water.

there are a lot of factors that should be determined before pouring a slab. Are you going to be in a cold area? If so you may want to put a haunch around the outer edges of the slab, use a 5000 pound mix, also if the slab is large you may want to saw cut the slab 1/3 of the way through so that if and when the slab cracks it will do so in the cut. Cover the slab with plastic and keep wet for several days, As for parking on it, find out what your contractor say's as he is the one who is going to back it up for a year.

Remember that the concrete contractor will only guaranty two things about your slab. One, it will be expensive and two, it will crack. Your local contractor knows the product available, here in TN the sand appears to have some clay in it, and how the weather will effect the cure. Listen to what he tells you.
