It's time to replace the motor home mattress. I've seen memory foam, air mattress type and regular inner springs each having it's own advantages and disadvantages. I'm sort of ruling out air type as I've tried them and am not thrilled, plus some seem to be getting rid of them due to air leaks pumps etc. Would appreciate thoughts on what to get.

We've got a Queen size pillow top that was installed by the PO, and it is very nice. It's also the full size, not the shortened version normally found in an RV. It's a bit longer, so we don't have as much room in the bedroom, but I'd rather have the longer mattress

We replaced our with Memory foam and have been very happy. Be careful about the size. If you have an RV queen it will be called a Queen Short by most suppliers.

www.rvfoammattress.com They have the short queen that you may be looking for, in two different thicknesses. I have one on my TC and one of their residential foam mattresses in the house. Free shipping on UPS ground, rolled up in plastic and in a box. Easy to move around inside the RV. Good prices and guarantee. I have enjoyed mine, and have some freinds that have purchased too. Good luck on your purchase.

I added a mattress topper to my mattress and it is a great addition. It is about 3" thick and does a great job at a low price.
On edit, The topper is memory foam and costs a little over $100. It was a big improvement over the original mattress which was not that bad.

We had a local custom mattress shop build a new pillow top for us that was just a couple of inches shorter than a regular queen for about $325.00.

It had a full queen in it from the previous owner that was decent but when the slide was in it was binding against the dresser area.

The custom fit one turned out really nice and is very comfortable.

IMHO look at TempFlow (Google it). Sort of like posturepedic without the horid smell and nighttime overheating. They made one the exact size we needed for our TT.

We don't like the memory foam mattress. They are very comfortable but can get very hot where your body touches the mattress. We special ordered a short queen with cut corners - pillow top both sides. It gets delivered tomorrow.

Our coach came with the Select Comfort air mattress. After the first year, the wands stopped working. So, Select Comfort sent a new motor and wands. Those lasted about a year and a half and the wands stopped showing numbers but would pump up the mattress.

Then, soon after, one side of the mattress would go completely flat. I managed to get air back in but during the night it would go completely flat again.

We were traveling through St. Louis and went out and bought a king size Beauty Rest pillow top mattress and threw the 'piece-of-junk' Sleep number bed in the dumpster. I will NEVER have one of those again.

Our 'no' gadget Beauty Rest is absolutely perfect. No wires, no motor, no leaky air mattress.... just pure pillow-top comfort!
