After 45,000 miles of camping our white carpet looked pretty crappy so i removed the living room section cutting up to the front seats and doghouse. Took me two days and $100 to lay laminate and trim. Much easier to keep clean now and looks classier.

Just finished installing Allure laminate. Looks great and was easy to install. Used a two by four and a block of wood to lift sofa, undid the bolts on the toliet and slipped the laminate under. Ripping out the carpet was the work. Good Luck you can do it. Cathie

This started out to be a pretty good thread on replacing carpeting, but the hard surfacing people had to chime in. I guess some people (us) are spoiled, and like soft, warm carpeting under foot at night and in the morning. Yea, yea, I know, you can put down throw rugs. You know, they make this new invention called a "Vacuum Cleaner", and it picks up dirt right out of the carpet! Installed carpet does not slip around like throw rugs.

Yes, love my carpet with a nice thick pad under it. Will someday replace with carpet!

Carpet, the only way to go. My dogs hate hard floors, they slip and slide, throw rugs slide all over the place, hard to clean and who wants to wax floors while on vacation. Nope, for me and mine we like carpet & its a lot quieter easer to clean and I am not so worried about germs that a little sand in my carpet is going to spoil my travling.

Do you have a friend or a buisness that has room to let you do it yourself? AS mentioned, use the old carpet as a template and make your cut bigger. I used a small air compressor and a air gun with staples when I put the new carpet down.
