A couple months ago I posted a gripe about an ant problem in my TT.
See What is with these cursed danged ants?
Well, 2 months later I'm back in the TT again as I work out of town and here we go again, stray ants wandering around inside my TT, mainly close to my FF in the bathroom.
I spent some time trying to find where they are coming from and have to conclude that they definitely have a nest inside the roof of my TT. I am now about 99.9 % certain I have a colony living within.
After the drive to where I am at, Powell River BC, 2 ferry rides away, I had a pile of debris on top of my toilet lid, directly under the FF in the bathroom. Debris as in ant larvae shells and the stuff that goes with them. Lots of it. My light globes are full of the same stuff - ugh!
I don't see a huge number inside, but some days I will kill off a couple dozen in one sweep. Very annoying to say the least.
I got a bottle of liquid ant killer - basically borax with a sweet base to attract them. Yesterday I put out a few drops in bottle caps here and there. Nothing happened for a while but as I saw a few strays I carefully picked them up and dropped them by the bait. Pretty soon I had a few show up. A while later I had a lot more show up. Today I had hundreds of them running a trail to my bait.
Creepy, yes! I wanted to just spray Raid on them and get them gone. But I do realize I have to let them wander, leave them alone and let them take the bait back to the nest.
Because they are concentrated near my FF in the bathroom, I put a few drops on the corner of my tub. Pretty soon I had a constant trail up and down my shower curtain. The bait ran out, I poured more on the the tub. ran out again, I refilled. 3 refills today, the last one I poured a puddle of the stuff about 2 inches across. All day was a steady feeding frenzy. Ugh! I had to leave them alone.
It's half past midnight now and there is no sign of them. I guess they sleep or something - I don't have any idea. I'll see what happens tomorrow.
The bait bottle says it takes 7 days to rid the place of them. This is day 2.
Just glad they are not concentrated in my kitchen, just a few strays there.
Lets see what happens.
I officially declared war on the little beggars yesterday. Eviction notice served!

Great tale of battle, well told. I wish you luck and success.
FWIW, I park my little C-Minus (and the two B's before it) in the same spot in my backyard... two heavily graveled tracks. I had ant issues, tho' not nearly as bad as what you're reporting. I've used a granulated Spectracide product, Triazicide, to end it.
Usually about three times a year starting in early spring, I back the Tiger off its spot and a sprinkle a light application in a circle around where each tire normally rests and a bit where the extension cord comes up off the grass. But I don't have outdoor pets or kids and I always park in the same spot at home.
I think the bag is 10 lbs, and cost me maybe $15 at Home Depot. It's lasted for several years and is still almost half-full.

Get some TERRO and put a couple of drops on a peice of paper and place it in the area where you see the ants. Do not kill the ants because they carry the TERRO back to there nest and kill the The queen and all the others.

Outside of ant traps that are supposed to let the ants carry the poison back to the nests and kill all, try this. Years ago, I had some small ants in my MH. I put a mixture of borax and sugar down on the trails, and that took care of them.

As a full timer, I run into ant problems from time to time. Public parks around lakes seem to offer the best opportunity for infestation. I carry a couple of bottles of Terro and set traps when a breakout occurs. It can be a little unnerving to see such a large parade of ants marching to and from the traps. Makes ya wanna grab the "Raid". But left alone, the Terro works within 3 to 5 days. It's over... until next time.
