I have a new Winnebago class motor-home with 22.5 alum wheels, with VAC8275 Versa Liner Hub Covers ,, I have serious corrosion occurring around the stainless liner circum contact point to alum wheel.. Is there suppose to be a spacer between the mating surfaces?? Who is @ fault for the damage??

I also have a Winnebago with aluminum 22.5 wheels with the Versa hub covers------corrosion issues.I have discussed with the dealer, with The hub manufacture, and Winnebago at the number (800-537-1885) you listed. My last documented conversation with the individuals(email) that manufacture the Versa hubs -------was to contact Winnebago. That Winnebago was aware of the concerns.

I contacted Winnebago as The hub manufacturer suggested. Winnebago stated that the where working on the problem.. That Winnebago needed to determine how to shorten the hub cover and add a separator. Winnebago also stated that they did not know what would be done about the damaged aluminum wheels.

Well Winnebago seems to always be working on a solution------but so far I have found that this is motorhome company that I should have not dealt with. They are certainly not what they use to be. Now they have Poor quality control and a lot of talk.

I have now been on the phone (over 2 hrs) with Ford Motor-Home Customer Support, they verified the alum rims were part of the original build supplied by Ford to Winnebago, this change started in 09 time-frame. I was instructed to take the motor-home to the designated Ford heavy duty dealership, the POC and phone number was supplied by the Ford Rep, I called the dealership which BTW is a 2-hr drive from my home, the srvc rep informed me they could not handle the 22.5 rims.. I am now trying to convince Ford Customer Srvc to allow another dealership to initiate the documentation/evaluation process.. Seems like a virtual loop//side-step to me!! Dicor does have an updated set of caps which include plastic spacers, this would be Winnebago part of solution, after market item added by Winnebago.. Known problem with little effort to resolve by MH manufacturer.. Where did the problem actually start??

the problem started with the fact that galvanic corrosion between aluminum and stainless steel will eat up the aluminum, not the stainless. if they touch, and get wet, the aluminum looses. typically either paint or plastic between them is the answer.
