I'm waiting for the "no RV in RV park" thread.

I can just imagine the problem something like this would cause. Someone calls and makes a reservation. They got the number from a listing on their iPhone while driving. Question, does every single page of their website say “no pets”? If not, or even if so, does the person taking the reservation tell everyone on the phone that their pets are not welcome? One slip up, and what happens when a person checks in with a pet?

The worst thing about dogs is when you get to your site and cannot take 2 steps without stepping in dog poo because the previous apparently had 3 or 4 dogs dumping everywhere.

This has happened to us one time so far, and that was enough. It was at Poole Knobs in LaVergen TN. And don't think dog owners don't dump their dog's feces in the fire ring - they can and they do.

No problem here. This a valid question. If you want a place that does not allow pets that is your choice to make. There are plenty of directories and sites that will tell you if pets are allowed or not. We search these so we can find sites that allow pets. I actually think it is funny when people go to a camp ground that allows pets then complains about the pets.

There are so few CGs that don't allow dogs, what else can the person do? Why don't you dog owners get after those dog owners who leave a mess behind and allow their dogs to bark 24/7? Police your own. I've yet to see a dog owner get after another dog owner who is obviously spoiling it for those who are responsible.

There are always those who will put pets before people. They will always be vocal about the issue. CGs and RV Resorts are for PEOPLE, not pets. People come first.

I think the CGs with loops for pet owners is a great idea. But then what about silent pets who don't leave the RV such as ferrets and cats and guinea pigs and rabbits? These pet owners most likely don't want to step in feces or listen to barking dogs either.

Somehow I doubt that. They just wont admit that they're irresponsible and selfish.

OK WandaLust2,
There is no need for a personal attack. My post attacked no one. I in fact was agreeing with the OP. And for the record when I do see another pet owner ruining it for everyone (pet lovers and non pet lovers) I do say something because I don't like it any more than you do. I will tell you this to this point I have never caught anyone breaking the poop rule and it is not my job to look for them. I'm in the park for the same reason you are--To enjoy myself. IF you do look at the directories and online searches there are plenty of parks that do not allow pets. I find the all the time and avoid them.

Oh - *I* do!! Proper procedure is to see dog taking a dump and no bag in hand of owner (they generally look around as if to imply "Gee, I don't see my dog pooping") and since I'm a veritable fountain of blue bags, I'll yell over to the about-to-be transgressor "Oh no! Do you need a poop bag?? I'd hate to have anyone think you're a rude dog owner!" while waving a bag in the air like a Tibetan Prayer flag....

Now that person has a choice: to say "Thanks, I've got one" and then use it; or decline and admit they're a RUDE DOG OWNER. At which point *I* will go over and clean up after their mutt. I have a pretty good arm, I've thought about turning my loaded blue bag into a Bean Ball and bouncing it off the back of their head..... but have held my temper....so far......

Some of us have no choice but to take muttly. We had to take our aging Lab with us while we worked in Wisconsin because we had no one to take care of her at home. It wasn't because she was cute and adorable and we couldn't be without her. We had to provide the campground with her vaccine records. She hated us because we followed her around with a poop shovel and a bag and she was resigned to being tied up all day next to a river she couldn't swim in.
