I like the heat but I have to admit it's nice to get away from it.

I've been looking for a place within a day's drive (from north Texas) where we can get out of the heat for a couple of days. Just can't find a place. Even looking at Taos, NM -- the highs there are in the 90s. I envy you folks who live close enough to those cool temps that you can just drive for a few hours and get away from the heat.

Dennis,
I don't know where you are currently, but if you want warm and sunny, come to north central Washington. It was 103° in downtown Wenatchee yesterday afternoon. That's not official temp, just what my car thought the outside temp was. it is usually pretty close to correct.

The last couple nights in upstate New York have been in the 60's. Great for sleeping. Still real hot during the day, high 80-90's. Give me 78-80 and sunny, I will be happy.

We're suppose to be at 109 this weekend in Central California, too bad we'll miss it we'll be at Morro Bay. Forecast 70 degrees.

I'm with the hot and sunny camp. I like the coast on the 3 days a year that it's warm. Spent the last 2 weeks in the Okanogan and left yesterday at 100+. Came home to the Seattle area where we had 85 yesterday but cool and cloudy this morning. We did actually hit 95 at home on Sunday.
