I 75 to I85 to I 985 to 441. Hit Atlanta between 10 am and 2 pm or on Sunday except when the Braves are playing.

That's truth! Everyone in Atlanta,Houston, Nashville thinks that they are a NASCAR driver with their pickup trucks making a lot on noise and driving far faster then sanity allows.

It is difficult to get around Atlanta. We go through Atlanta a couple of times a year. We have tried many ways around it, but they all had there own problems. We now just go right through downtown and try to hit Atlanta in the morning either before or after rush hour. If we have a choice we also go through Atlanta on Saturday morning after staying the night at High Falls State Park just south of Atlanta.

I-75 north, take I-285(by-pass loop around Atlanta) to avoid downtown, which cuts over to I-85 quiker/easier, then I-985, which then turns into 441 up into the Mtns leading to Franklin!
Not far from Franklin, visit NOC, Natahalla Outdoor Center, cool rafting & restaurant!
Have a great trip!
