Hi guys
I have just finished up a 4500 mile trip to Devils Tower and then over to Vermont. We went from Cleveland on I90 to the Bad Lands and everything between and then I went up to I94 to come back over to vermont. I would like to know if anyone makes headers for a 2011 6.8 v10 E350 super duty. I only get at best 9.5 miles per gallion and would like to know if it would be worth while. Thanks

Check with 'Banks Power Systems'. They make stuff for just about every engine.
Also check thru E-Bay listings.

If you can find headers.
The Headers will only give you a small improvement in MPG (1 to 2 at most). You may see a small increase in power. This will be offset by problems...the heat from the headers may cause:
Burnt wiring
Engine Computer Errors
Boiled Brake Fluid
Melted Speedometer cable
Heat in the floorwell of the driver and passenger compartment
Vapor Lock if the fuel line is too close to the headers

If you search here for "Banks" you'll get a lot of hits. Most will tell you the increase in MPG will not happen. I did a complete Banks on an older Class A and everything improved, but MPG. It did everything I wanted it to and was well worth the cost. If you want a cooler running, more powerful motor, yes, headers will give you that.

Headers will give you more power. Headers will not provide better fuel economy.

The application I had for a 460 Ford motor had heat shields in the right locations; I experienced none of the above.

A Banks is not going to do much for your engine. I had a full system on my 2001 v-10 and it improved the shift points, added a bit of power on hills, and dropped the mpg. Your engine is a much better one than pre 2005. IMHO, not worth the money on the new 3v v-10s. You will get people who disagree with me I am sure.

Please be sure to match engine-for-engine. From all I've read, the V10 in E-Series is still two-valve. From experience, I didn't like a header setup on a Dodge van we had years ago. (Funny story here... I was gonna order headers here, mufflers there, so on so on. Wife suggested ordering a whole kit from Sears, which I did. Turbo Mufflers and all. We heard comments when I put all the pieces on a float cart and rolled them back into Sears Catalog. Like "Boss is gonna love this one." Satisfaction Guaranteed...)
Anyhow, from what I read about E-Series here, Headers'll give a touch more power. Banks'll give a touch more. Mileage, not so much.
But engines really change over the years. Those who remember "Alaskan" (and God rest you, Butch), he was adamant that headers really benefitted the 460. And he was a mechanic and RV tech.
God Bless, jd

The Banks PowrPack made a dramatic increase in power on my rig. Enough that I think Bank's number are probably understated (afterall, they claim the same increase for the much more restrictive non-PI heads, i.e pre-'00 V10's).
I have had the Banks setup for the last 200,000+ miles (I have almost 340,000 now), which around 90% of miles miles being towing miles since then. The only issues is the spot welds on the heat shields occasionally pop, and I had to replace the donut gaskets at the collectors. But the manifold end of the headers do not leak one bit.
I did initially have some really bad drone at 60MPH. Banks told me to try a curved tip, and that fixed it.
