Is it possible to replace the 12V resetable circuit breakers with a home style panel and single pole circuit breakers? my fifth wheel camper has three 40A 12v mini circuit breakers that once they trip they will reset after they cool off it has only happened a couple of times and had to replace one because one of the studs pulled out of the breaker would no longer function, I would like to replace all 3 with a small home style panel with single pole GE breakers.

Home style breakwers are not rated for 12 volts.
I would get a better quality 12 volt DC breakers maybe from a marine store. Most of these are manual reset.

Check out BLUE SEA SYSTEMs for Circuit Breakers, Fuses, Panels and Terminal Blocks for high current 12VDC system.
BLUE SEA SYSTEMSs
I use many of their products on my OFF-ROAD POPUP battery systems. All of the BLUE SEA PRODUCTS can be purchased using AMAZON.COM just enter the Blue Sea Part Number in the AMAZON search entry...
I am not sure what you have in mind replacing your auto reset type circuit breakers but if I was to use some panel type circuit breakers I would mount them in a panel inside the trailer as close to the battery bank as I could get it but be out of the weather elements... Blue Sea has such DC Circuit breaker panels that might suit your needs. If your DC Circuit breaker panel can only be installed outside your trailer I would look into putting the DC circuit breaker panel inside a PVC enclosure with a door or easy access lid arrangement. LOWES carries a big variety of PVC Electrical boxes that might fit your purpose and keep all of your breakers out of the elements..

Square D makes home style breakers that are rated for DC up to 48 volts. I'm sitting in an airport right now, so I cannot look up the specific, but I believe it is QO.
But I would figure out why they are tripping, and fix that problem.

Thanks, And I have already found the problem with the Circuit Breaker tripping the previous owner had tightened one of the stud nuts and the stud pulled out of the breaker just enough so it was not making good contact and causing it to trip. I just feel like the 12V breakers are fragile and would like something more reliable.

Properly installed 12 volt circuit breakers will last along time.
Be careful so there is no tension on the studes. You need to bend the wire so there is a small offset so any temperature change will not put any stress on the posts.
Even if they circuit breaker manufacturer says they are weather proof, they still need some protection.
Use electrical grease on all connections. I use electrical grease inaide crimp connectors before I crimp them

I did install blue seas 12v breakers and it turned out nice and I really like the fact I can trip a breaker and perform Maint. or Elec. work and not have to worry about it.
Thanks again.
