Valley of the rogue state park is about as nice as you can get for a state park. They probably have a day limit but you can base there for a couple of weeks and scout around for another park.

North of Salem about 20 miles....near Aurora is Champoeg State Park. About 5 miles off I-5....yes, as it is a State Park you will be limited on # of days...nice spots with many pull thrus.
Woodburn has a RV park right by the Woodburn Outlet stores...about 1/4 mile off freeway.
Albany has a couple RV parks near I-5.
I am sure Eugene has some but I don't recall them right now.

In Eugene I highly recommend Armitage County Park. Excellent park close to town with lots of large pull-throughs and green space. I have a review and pics HERE

P.S. Another vote for Valley of the Rogue too

Not right near I5, but not too far is Silver Creek Falls State Park. Great hiking and many falls to view.

Valley of the Rogue is a long ways from Salem-Eugene area. Silver Falls State Park is as nice as they get but don't know if they have pull throughs. Ditto Champoeg park. It's very nice. If you want private parks Phoenix Park in Salem is very nice and reasonable. Priemer RV Park in West Salem is beautiful but expensive. We used to live in Salem but know nothing about Eugene Parks.

There is definitely a lot more to Oregon than I5. If that is all you see, I feel sorry for you. We are going into our second year hosting at OPS's and I can tell you from 40 years of camping in them that Oregon's state park system is second to none. If you are near Salem in July stop in and say hi. No camping but a nice little day use park. We wont even charge you a day use fee LOL.

so dutch , here is the scoop .
oregon has very good state parks
oregon has great forest service sites .
the oregon cascade mountain range divides oregon about 80 miles to the east of i5.
the oregon coast state parks are the answer from Brookings to Astoria .
if you just want to drive i5 you might as well drive i95 instead.
if you want terrific camping i suggest to you that camping along any highway that leads from i5 to the cascades is top notch .
in particular you will enjoy camping along hwy 22 , 20 , 126 , and 138 . a hundred choices all of them a 7 or better .
we are talking forest service , no hookups .
the most beautiful camping in the land.
New Hampshire is pretty . The Oregon Cascades are prettier.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it ...
Bend / Sisters is the jewel of Oregon .
camp at tumalo state park , the cove palisades , or if you want the best rv resort in central oregon the crown villa rv resort in bend.
near i5 silver falls and champoeg are excellent .

We use Champoeg any time we are in the area. We prefer the B loop which is newer and has larger sites. There are couple of pull throughs which book out quickly. Plenty to do in the park and in the area. Hint, use a map for directions and not GPS units that want to route you on the quickest or shortest roads from I5.
