Dog Years…
I’ve been thinking about how dogs age and if they do age 7 years to the typical trip around the sun of one year.
This would mean our dogs age one year every 1.7 months.
Acknowledging this fact of life, this is why I try to be more conscious of making each day a special (or good) day for my dogs.
I can feel the smoke seeping out of my ears so I’ll stop thinking for a while….

Although I heard this story before, it’s always a good story to read from time to time.
However, my take on this is;
My dogs will be already sitting at the gate. Trying to negotiate my way in….LOL Although I may not be laughing at that time…..
Oh well, we gotta pay our dues sometime….

This is the toughest of decisions that only you can make.
When my “Baby” (Pit Bull) got a heart attack a few years ago. It just happened that Ma was visiting and rushed her to the Emergency Clinic.
I received a call from the Doctor, giving me the 411 on “Baby’s” critical condition. During our short conversation, “Baby’s” heart stopped.
After asking a quick question, I decided (although I didn’t want to. It was my opinion if I didn‘t let "Baby" go, it would have been selfish of me) to let her sleep.
This Pit-Bill and I went through the toughest of times together.
My prayers are out to you’all,

My question to the Doctor was of “Baby’s” quality of life if he was able to revive her….

There’s no way in Heck that I’ll spend my money on a toy like this, again!…LOL
A few years (OK, a lot of years) ago, I bought one of those battery operated balls that bounced around the room.
It Scared the Living Cr*p out of Kuma (Shar-Pei), almost gave him a Heart Attack….LOL So I ended up giving it to my neighbors Kid, who of course Loved It!

I know this is an odd way to look at our situation, but while "The Clan’s” on contract and due to the size of the Project.
The Kid’s could be thinking we’re on a permanent vacation or that Pops’ is too poor to have a nice lawn of grass for them to play in…:R

Holding completely healthy, loving and happy Dogs and Cats in your arms while it is Euthanized.
I don’t know how they can do this job (I don’t know what they get paid, but I think it’s not enough), I for One could not handle the emotional stress to do this job.
Seeing the incredible cruelty otherwise normal people like you and I subject their animals to. Starvation, beatings, deliberate abuse, pet owners abandoning dogs due to the economic realities, illness due to not properly vaccinate them, lack of care...even throwing them in a river (happened last week to a pair of Chihuahua's) to get rid of their barking. One died. Dogs and cats ran over by cars, no ID tags or owner information, beyond help. Dogs locked inside of cars as the heat rises in the Southern California summer sun. Dogs deliberatly fought in a pit till death for gambling. Dogs in back yards, oozing pus filled wounds, crying in pain. Horses turned loose in rural neighborhoods, emainciated and barely able to walk due to lack of care...the owners evicted from their million dollar ranch style homes. A home owned by a woman with a 13 year old pregnant daughter and 32 dogs, 46 cats living inside. All real stuff!
...be even more critical and angry at the thoughtless, stupid and ignorant owners that make these Animal Shelters a necessity!
It’s only logical since we do these describe actions to individuals within our own Species. That we would do these things to other species as well.
One day we’ll meet our Maker and made to answer what we have done. All because we are proclaimed as the Dominate Species of this Planet.

The primary reason for mentioning the BBB is that if it would help the OP to have some closure to move on, then by all means take the little amount of time it would take to file a complaint.
In this case I don’t think it matters nor is it important what the BBB will do. All this is, is a tool that may help them place a closure to this incident, nothing more.

One of the posters commented about just one hubcap being stolen,
Yes it was only a hub cap stolen, but it was a hub cap from their client’s property and more importantly it was yours, PERIOD.
What is an excuse? Nothing, but an excuse.
From your expiation/post, it’s my opinion (and I think you know that) the employee/s are covering their butt. However at this point, it would be best (if you feel it’s validity) to file a complaint with the BBB, then move on (which you already have).

I’m going to take a different approach in regards to your question.
The owner’s of the storage facility should give the people living on site another look, questioning their abilities in doing what they are hired to do. Which for one is keeping tabs on his/her customers property, by reporting to both the owner of the storage facility (through a written report and accompanied by a police report/incident number) and client. Notifying the customer as soon as a problem was discovered. But the first thing they should have done when a problem was discovered was to call the police and file a report (regardless if it was over the phone or on site when the police arrived and have a copy of the report available to the customer).
If the problem wasn’t discovered by the employee’s, but by the customer (this is where the photos taken will be a benefit, eliminating any dough or question regardng the claimed/said problem).
If I was fortunate enough to own a storage facility that cared for Motor homes, boats and the like. I would take a photograph record of the item being stored when the customer check-in (exterior, maybe 4 shots minimum, front, back and sides. I think you get the idea), then file the photos in the computer. My opinion is, that this bit of insurance isn’t hard to do in this digital age we’re in, protecting both the business and client.
In addition (the benefits) in that it would make the customer feel confident that you genuinely care for their property that they are paying you to store/protect/secure.
It doesn’t take much to go above and beyond what other similar business are doing.
