RE: Air intake systems on DP cummins

ticat900, I think what armySFCRET was saying is. If you replace your filter and donot reset the filter minder, it will go back to the yellow red again. What I do is replace the filter and reset the filter minder and restart the engine, then reset once more.
Thunder - Exactly. One simple step that could have been overlooked.

RE: Air intake systems on DP cummins

Did you reset the gauge when you installed the filter. There is a small button on the bottom that, when pushed, will reset the gauge.

RE: need help..Dish sat.tv set up

San Angelo looks to be on almost the same latitude as we are here in SE AZ. Our dish is cranked 20 times to get the right elevation. Dropping down to Ft. Davis should require almost 21 turns and a slight adjustment counter clockwise from where you were in San Angelo. Hope this helps.

RE: Service Engine Soon

Larry,
"Service Engine Soon" could be anything from a bad or dirty sensor, a loose vaccum line, time to change oil, or any number of other items. I would recommend having someone find out what the code is before you make any trip out of town and avoid damaging something. If the code comes up as something minor, it could probably wait until you return. A quick stop could save a lot of heartburn later.

RE: DirecTV staffed by MORONS!

I will be willing to bet the guy you spoke to on the phone didn't even reside in the USA! I asked a customer service rep from Dell computers where he was located and in his heavy Asian accent he boldly claimed "I live California USA!" Oh yeah! :M
We have had excellent service from Dish for almost 10 years.

RE: Bought A TT and never camped before.....

If local rules allow you to park your TT in your driveway or side yard, try camping there for a couple of weekends. Limit your access to your stick house as much as possible and that way you can learn what you may need and may not have available. It also gives you the opportunity to try out the different systems to ensure they are all working properly. Believe it or not, driveway camping can be fun too.
Welcome aboard.

RE: Daylight savings time yea or nay

How about this one from the Aspen Times in March of 2007:
Dear Editor:
I am sure that if you have been out on the trails of our wonderful mountains lately you have noticed the snow is disappearing rapidly, and there are rocks and trees poking through at levels seemingly unprecedented in the memory of those of us that pay attention to such things. It is heartbreaking to to see their majestic finery slipping away so early.
Ah, the locals say, global warming is to blame! They have seen the movie by Albert Gore and are convinced, and even our own Aspen Skiing Co. is buying it. But the true culprit is right under their noses, on the faces of their watches, foisted upon us by another sainted Democrat - one Franklin Delano Roosevelt!
Yes, my friends, I am speaking of the insidious evil known as daylight-saving time! When we switched our clocks ahead on March 10, we not only lost an hour of sleep for one night, we added an hour of sunlight to every evening until next November. Any fool can tell you that afternoon sun is the hottest sun, as that is the hottest part of the day! Think of the damage an extra hour of solar radiation does to the snow on our mountains. And this year, with a Democrat congress, daylight-saving time was moved up four weeks, adding all that extra melting time. It will be a wonder if there is even a snow bank left to play in when April rolls around.
Now is the time for all right thinking Americans to call their congressman to tell them that this madness must stop, before Aspen and its economy melts away.

RE: Air Suspension

We always dump air when parked. Creates less travel for the jacks for one thing. Must be why they put the dump switch right next to the jack controls on our Freightliner chassis.

RE: Hwy 191, eastern Arizona

Folks seem to be ignoring the northern pieces of 191, especially through the Navajo Res. From Eager to highway 160 at Mexican Water, then into Utah and up to I70 is a wonderful drive with a lot of history/sites to visit - e.g. Hubbell Trading Post, Canyon de Chelly, Mexican Hat, Canyonlands and Arches National Parks.
As noted in our previous posting, we went from Mexico all the way to Canada on 191 in 2007. In addition to the ones you posted you can include, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Flaming Gorge, Dinosaur Nat Monument and Painted Desert/Petrified Forest.

RE: 30 Amp Extension Cord

The worst feeling ever is coming up 2-3 feet short on your 30A cord, and having to use a 15A block heater cord to finish the job. So much for getting what you paid for.

I was going to post a "funny" with a picture of a cable stretcher. When I looked it up... there is such an animal!
Actually used to stretch the brake and gear cables on bicyles. :)
So much for that plan. :(

RE: Cap vs. Tonneau Cover?

Cap Pros:
1) More room
2) Easy access
3) More visibilty
4) Extra sleeping position if needed
Cap Cons:
1) More Weight (cap + stored stuff)
2) More wind resistance
3) Less security (glass windows)
4) More expensive
Tonneau Pros:
1) Looks better IMHO
2) Better visibility to rear

RE: 30 Amp Extension Cord

Try parking at the in-laws some time. You can bet that most of them will require a pretty good run to get to some sort of power. We have used two 25' extensions at times. Yeah, I know, here comes the power police talking about line loss and all that. :)

RE: Propane Refilling: What to Expect

I prep everything before he gets to my tank. Open the yellow cap, close both valves (propane genset) and wait until he is done. I then check vent valve, tighten the yellow cap and check that both valves are open. I have had one incident where the guy wouldn't let me near the coach until he was done, in fact he had my DW get out of the coach, but I stood back and watched and checked everything when he was done.

RE: Outside refrigerator vent panel

They are called "retainer clips" and should be available at a local RV repair facility. Just ask for "retainer clips for the refrigerator panel."

RE: Arizona, Californa, Nevada

I-10, I-8 and I-40 through AZ are great. Anything north of I-40 is going to put you in the mountains of CO and WY. I-8 is direct route to San Diego. I-10 puts you right smack dab in the middle of LA and I-40 takes you through the high desert and on into Bakersfield if you stay on 58. If you do I-10 though AZ, recommend you take the truck bypass (I-8 and 85) to avoid Phoenix. We prefer 99 over I-5 in CA though to get to the Northern end of CA.

RE: Switch Not Found - Dish Network

You said it's a roof mounted dish.. Is it a "Dish 500" or (Dish 1000) dish or is it an One-LNB DirecTV dish (no switch)?
With OTA television, one antenna works for all, Digital, analog, channel 2, 7, 14, 50.. ALl the same
But when it's satellite TV your antenna (DISH) needs to be the same as your receiver requires, and there are several different antennas.
Also.. I don't know if Dish does this (Think they do) but I know Direc has a few packages where they tie in a 2nd dish to the main antenna.... The reason being that some programming lives on a different satellite.
Standard low end one LNB roof mounted dish that has been working fine for almost 6 years. DISH network and only DISH network equipment.

RE: Switch Not Found - Dish Network

I have swapped this receiver from the house to the coach several times. I always do the check switch when I move it. It is only now that I have been having problems with the set up. Was going to check everything out this weekend but we have rain. Yeah, I said it. Rain in AZ! Yech! :) Remember I said, it tends to drop the signal after I finally get it locked on the sat and receiving a signal.

RE: 1981 automate tow weight

I would just tow it to the truck scale and get the present weight... later as you are all set up to go use it... then do the loaded weight for operational weight. But first do a quickie....
That makes even better sense than my idea. :)
