RE: Water under floor

the water is running down the ouside of the walls from the rain but when it gets to the bottom it does not drip straight down it goes across the bottom of the floor about 2 inches, thats why i think it where its getting in cause where the holes are from the bolts is in the same area.
I might take a picture tonight and post
Also im not sure if this makes any differance but its an Ultra lite trailer so there is nothing in the floor. I am not sure how its build but it looks like a 1/8 sheet all across the bottom. then the tarp under it. There must be somthing in between but not sure what.
I believe coroplast is the plastic that signs are made out of. This is exactly like a tarp black on the bottom and grey on top.

Water under floor

Hi,
I am wondering if water around the sides of my rockwood 2601ss (on top of the tarp that covers the bottom of the floor is normal? It seems to be all around the edges after a rain.
There is holes in the tarp where the walls bolt in ( I think the water is running down the wall running across the bottom of the tarp and going in these holes.
Any opinons? its a 2009. Just want to be armed when I got to the dealer. I am think they all must be like this with the bolts comming through. I checked another new one at the dealer and it had the holes also. I am going to check after a rain when they are closed.
I was going to caulk the holes but i am thinking mayber there there to drain.
there is no water in the trailer. This is the 1/8 board that is on the very bottom side that is getting wet.
Thanks for any help...

water 2601ss

I have a 09 rockwood 2601ss. Today was the first time that it has rained since we bought it. I was checking for a hot water tank bypass when i notice that the front corner under the trailer, between the tarp (that covers the entire underside of the trailer) and the floor had some water in between. I put a small slit in it to drain it. I cant find how this is getting in there. I checked everything, ran hoses and check caulking.
The only thing i can see is there are bolts that come through the bottom of the trailer from the walls, in some spots the tarp has ripped around the bolts.. I am wondering if the water is comming down the wall then getting under the tarp throught these holes. I am going to try some silicone around the bolts.
Anyone have any ideas? The inside of the trailer wall and floor is bone dry... I am thinking if it was the roof the floor inside would be wet also??
Hopefully i explaned this well enough....
Thanks

Tow Vehicle Set up

I have a 08 sierra crew cab 4x4 half ton. With 3.70 gear ratio and the 5.3 liter. I just bought a Rockwood 2601ss. It weighs 4800 pounds dry. Does anyone else have this set up? I used it on the weekend and it took 50l of fuel to go 200km. that would mean I would get 400km (248miles) to a tank.
Does this sound right? I have been towing in 3rd. According to the dealer and the book my truck is rated fo 7500pound trailer so the dealer has told me my truck is playing with this trailer even adding 1000pounds of storage inside trailer.
Any input of the fuel miliage?

RE: Buying a used RV from a mfr no longer in business

IMHO its no different then buying a used trailer. The majority of the parts will be made from other manufactures and should be available. To me worst case is you have no warranty.

rockwood 2604 advice

Hi all,
I just bought a rockwood 2604ss and picked it up Friday. Ive noticed that the aluminum frame on the queen bed has a lot of momvement to it. (I am around 345pounds and 6'5) I was thinking about building a small wall under the frame to help support me and stop any possible future problems.
I am looking for input here, has anyone had any issues with the aluminum frames and do you think the floor could support the small wall for support ok?
The floors in all these trailers are very spongy... probably just my size I have not been able to find any post regarding ppl falling through yet lol.......

Slide out Question Rockwood 2501ss

Hi everyone,
I just picked up a new 2501ss... and I had a question about the tipout. Once it gets close to being out all the way it pushes the wall out a little bit before it stops... Is this normal for it to make a proper seal?
I also noticed a little crack ( about an inch long under the slide out). There is no pressure on this from the slide out, appears to be there from when they cut the hole for slide... Is this somthing I should worry about? It is above the seal on the slide when its closed.
thanks in advanced
